If you're just taking up drumming, the Roland TD-1K will have you off to a flying start. More advanced players will also hugely enjoy this electronic drum kit, though, while they're honing their drumming techniques. The TD-1K offers the same high-quality sound and playability as the larger kits from the V-Drums series, and the kit also features a number of tools that will help you improve your drumming skills.
The Roland TD-1K : Natural Sound and Feel
The TD-1K is equipped with fifteen ready-to-play drum kits that allow you to try out any music style you like. Each drum sound has a wide dynamic range and a natural tone, while the drum pads provide a life-like response. This means you can keep honing the techniques you use when you're playing an acoustic kit. In true V-Drums style, the cymbal pads are highly expressive - the crash and ride sound ultra-realistic and make a clear distinction between edge, mid and bell strokes. Cymbal chokes (quickly damping the sound of a cymbal with your hand) are no problem, and the cymbal pads move very naturally when you hit them. With the hi-hat drum pad you can create life-like opened and closed hi-hat sounds, and other hi-hat techniques can also effortlessly be realised.
The Roland TD-1 Drum Module
The included TD-1 sound module is filled with functions that make practising super fun. A metronome helps you develop a sense of rhythm and the Coach mode offers a number of challenging exercises to train your speed, stamina and accuracy. The module has a range of built-in audio songs that allow you to play along with a complete band. Would you rather study the drum parts of your own favourite tracks? No problem either, just plug your smartphone or media player into the mix-in jack connector. The TD-1 sound module also features a recording function, which enables you to play back your own performance for review.
Roland TD-1K Configuration
The Roland TD-1K consists of three tom pads, a snare pad, two cymbal pads and a hi-hat pad with foot controller. The bass drum pedal has a beaterless design, making it much more quiet than the traditional combination of pedal and bass drum pad. The electronic drum kit is quite compact in size, which makes it ideal for small (living) rooms. Thanks to the ergonomic design of the rack you can quickly and easily set up the TD-1K kit just the way you like it.
Computer
The drum module of the TD-1K drum kit has a USB MIDI interface, so you can use your computer to play along with the (free) Roland V-Drums Friend Jam applications. Jam Tracks, various exercises and the option to interact with other V-Drums users - worldwide! - are all part of the possibilities. Thanks to the interface it's also possible to use the TD-1K for recording realistic MIDI drum tracks in your favourite music production software.
If you'd like to expand your Roland TD-1K electronic drum kit, there are various options. The OP-TD1C cymbal set, for instance, allows you to add an additional crash to your setup. The kick pedal can be replaced by the KT-10 or KD-9, which are also found in more advanced V-Drums kits. Other useful accessories include the NE-10 Noise Eater and the TDM-3 drum mat (both for damping purposes), or the PM-03 Personal Drum Monitor, which allows you to put your headphones aside and to enjoy the fantastic sound of this high-grade kit out loud.

Ik heb de TD-1K voor mijn dochter gekocht. Een leuke starterset, en ook makkelijk uit te breiden wanneer je daar aan toe bent (oa extra bekken, andere kick-pedalen, mesh snare).
De omgekeerde T-constructie maakt dat de kit niet veel ruimte inneemt en de set is vrij eenvoudig in elkaar te zetten en op lengte in te stellen. Ziet er ook strak uit (mooi dat er is gedacht aan klemmen om de kabels te geleiden). Met de coach module is de set ook meteen compleet (metronoom, sets om uit te kiezen, nummers om mee te spelen).
Werd ook netjes, compleet (ik had er drumstokken, een kruk en een koptelefoon bij besteld) en op tijd bezorgd. We hebben gekozen voor een elektronische set met koptelefoon om de buren te ontzien, maar ook in huis zelf hoor je nauwelijks dat er een verdieping hoger geoefend wordt. Zonder dat we extra demping hebben aangebracht.
Op youtube zijn ook heel wat positieve reviews over deze set en z'n grotere broertje te vinden.

Ik speel zelf op tdkv11, deze gekocht om begeleiding te geven aan autische jongere. De set klinkt buiten verwachting goed, is makkelijk op te zetten, heeft voor beginners voldoende mogelijkheden. Een produkt de naam Roland waardig.
Vorige week heb ik deze drumkit aangeschaft en geb er absoluut geen spijt van. Als beginnend drummer kan ik er al leuke ritmes uitkrijgen en klinkt de kit heel erg goed. Voor de schappelijke prijs kreeg ik een stevig drumstel met toch heel wat mogelijkheden. Ook de service van Baxhop wil ik zeker in de kijker stellen, want het werd geleverd op de afgesproken datum en stevig verpakt. Via mail kan ik nauwkeurig volgen waar mijn pakket zat, tot zelfs wanneer het pakket afgeleverd werd. Super. Ik ben er zeker van dat ik aan deze drumkit heel wat plezier ga beleven.
Super leuk ding voor een beginnende drummer. Het is niet heel uitgebreid maar het doet wat het belooft. bouwkwaliteit is prima en het is makkelijk op te zetten.
Dit is een perfect alternatief voor de grotere broertjes. Hij klinkt super, speelt soepeler dan verwacht en is heerlijk licht en compact terwijl hij toch stevig op zijn poten staat. Kortom ik ben dik tevreden.

Supersnelle levering van Bax music. Drumstel is heel gemakkelijk om in elkaar te steken, dus je kan snel beginnen drummen. Als je in de kamer ernaast gaat staan, hoor je heel stilletjes dat er iemand aan het kloppen is op iets. Als je twee kamers verder gaat staan, hoor je helemaal niets meer. Geluid van de verschillende drums klinkt goed. Ik denk dat dit een zeer goede prijs-kwaliteit deal is.
